The Manly Observer – Painting the town red for TB

Manly Town Hall was lit red on Wednesday evening in solidarity with Results Australia as they fight against the global spread of Tuberculosis (TB).

TB is a potentially serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs. The bacteria that cause tuberculosis are spread from one person to another through tiny droplets released into the air via coughs and sneezes.

Every day 4,000 people die from TB, largely affecting the poor and marginalised. The hall was lit to make a statement that TB is a major public health emergency, and it is time for the global community to act.
